Vanishing Why did you disappear,
was it of the love or the fear?
Why did you vanish,
was it 'cause i couldn't manage?

I couldn't manage what we had going,
and so you left without me knowing.
I know you had secrets, and i had mine,
but i still thought we'd last to the ends of time.

Maybe you didn't want anyone to know,
that may have been why you chose to go.
Or maybe you were just so sick of me,
I can't believe i was so blind to see.

So now you're gone, the door left wide,
you said we were alright, i guess you lied.
I can see now that we became strangers,
and i didn't see the signs of danger.

I now sit waiting for your next call,

Good tut but keeping the original selection in place and then making a new layer and applying the gradient does the same thing without the clipping mask.
